Ravensara Essential oil is a potent addition to any essential oil cabinet. In Madagascar, where the Ravensara Aromatica tree is native to, the essential oil is touted as a cure-all for almost any health ailments. It lives up to its name when you consider that Ravensara Essential oil is an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiallergenic substance that can act as a natural disinfectant and analgesic.
As it is such potent oil, it is important to note that it should be diluted well. Its antiviral and antimicrobial properties are even viable when vaporized.
Ravensara is a large rainforest tree native to Madagascar, and its leaves and twigs contain the prized oil which has been used for centuries in the traditional medicinal practice on the island. The oil is extracted from the leaves and small twigs using steam distillation, resulting in a thin, clear liquid that is as potent as it is pure.

Recipes With Ravensara Essential Oil
Flu or the Common Cold:
- 10 drops of Ravensara oil
- 10 drops of Lavender oil
- 10 drops of Eucalyptus oil
- 10 drops of Thyme oil
- Add to a bath or footbath
- 1 drop of Ravensara oil
- 1 drop of Tea tree oil
- Place the drops on a cold sore (use a cotton swab)
- 5 drops of Ravensara oil
- 5 drops of Eucalyptus oil
- 5 drops of Lemon oil
- 5 drops of Pine oil
- 3oz Carrier oil
- Rub directly on your chest in a circular motion to experience relief.
