Oregano has an extremely unique and potent aroma. It has been a folk remedy for ages, having been distilled since the ancient Greeks and used in decoctions in Austria for centuries. Oregano Essential oil is full of powerful antioxidants, antifungal, and antibacterial properties, and may even kill MRSA.
As such, Oregano Essential oil is a must have for cold and flu season. Just a drop on a napkin, when inhaled, is enough to provide relieve from a nasty cough, and a drop a day on a wart can help eliminate it altogether. Oregano means “Delight of the mountains.” No surprise there, since it has so many beneficial properties. The disinfectant and antibacterial properties of oregano essential oil were first recognized in ancient Greece. It was common to treat bacterial infections on the skin or wounds with oregano oil, and it was also employed to protect food from bacteria.
The oregano plant produces dark green leaves flowers with a pink hue. It is an herb which grows up to 2 feet, and spreads almost just as wide. The herb is put through a steam distillation process to extract the oil and pairs well with camphorous scents like cedarwood and eucalyptus.
