In the heat of summer, our mind floats to a few common things to keep us cool. Watermelon, swimming pools, lemonade and…essential oils? Taking a quick breath of essential oils may not be the first thing you think to help cool you off, but maybe it should be – because nerolina essential oil has a calming, cooling quality to it.
When combined with other cooling, grounding fragrances like Peppermint and Cedarwood, you’d be surprised at the difference a deep breath can make. Nerolina oil also has the benefit of being an effective anti-allergenic, helping reduce the histamine response of the body. It can also help relax cramping and sore muscles in the body. On the skin, it can be used to fight bacterial or fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, and may help reduce acne.
Nerolina is an evergreen tree native to Australia, which grows up to 35 feet tall. It produces fragrant leaves and green or red flowers. The leaves are put through a steam distillation process to isolate the essential oil. The pure oil is pale yellow and has a medium consistency. It pairs well with soft floral scents.
