If you’ve ever run your hand through a geranium plant to release that wonderful floral scent, then you are definitely not alone. Just like the plant, geranium essential oil has a scent every bit as florally sweet and brightly intoxicating. It has a tranquil yet energizing effect, and is beneficial for a wide variety of ailments.
The Native Americans drank tea from the root of geranium to help with ulcers and internal hemorrhaging. The French chemist Recluz was the first to distill geranium leaves in the 19th century, and since that time, geranium essential oil has found many uses due to its anti-microbial and antibacterial functions. More recently it has found great use for the treatment of skin conditions like acne, scar tissues, cellulite, and stretch marks because of its strong function as a cicatrisant. It facilitates blood circulation to the skin, and promotes even distribution of melanin, fading the signs of bothersome skin conditions.
Though native to Africa, geranium is now found all around the world, and grows to around 3 feet in height. The attractive flowers of the geranium plant vary in color from red to blue, and shades of purple in between. By putting only the leaves through a steam distillation process, the highest quality oil is bottled and delivered right to your door.
